Youssef Youssef

Born in 1979 – Al Qamishli, Syria.

Youssef’s work is characterised by the distinctly rounded faces of women and children whom he depicts expressionless, using dusky earthtones.

education

  • Faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus University in 1981
  • PhD from Moscow University in The Philosophy of Art in 1990.

Awards

  • Award of recognition at the 2nd Sharjah International Art Biennal in 1995.
  • In 2004, he was awarded the first prize in painting at the International Art Symposium in Dubai
